This online course is led by one of the most experienced trainers and pilot recruiters in the pilot assessment preparation arena – a current airline pilot, recruiter and former military pilot – and covers all of the non-technical aspects of any pilot interview and group exercise. We’ll train you how to craft expert responses to any question that comes your way and excel in your group exercise.

Why Enrol?

What You Get

Cadetship and flight school selection is highly competitive, and many capable applicants come unstuck simply because they’re underprepared – or preparing for the wrong things. They may have all the potential in the world, but walk in without knowing what selection panels are actually assessing. Our Academy eLearning course changes that. It won’t just show you how you’re assessed, but crucially how to evidence the competencies they’re looking for. In fact, by the end of the course, you’ll understand the process so well you’ll feel like an assessor yourself.

How You’ll Access Your Training

Your course can be accessed through your laptop, desktop or via a mobile app which you can download here. Simply choose your access period and start your learning immediately from the comfort of your own home, or on the move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you want to know more about how our pilot interview training courses can help you pass these crucial stages of any airline or flight school assessment process?

You’re in the right place. Whether you’re applying for a cadetship, a flight school place, or a scholarship scheme, Flight School Wingman offers a wide range of services to support you through your interview.

A good first step is to understand that a pilot interview isn’t just about answering questions – it’s about evidencing the specific competencies selection panels are assessing. We’ll show you how to recognise which competency each question is really targeting, and how to structure your answers so you’re actively providing the panel with clear, concrete evidence of it – drawn from your own experiences.

Our Wingman Academy lets you learn online and at your own pace through structured video lessons. Every session is human-led and delivered by an experienced pilot who’s been through selection themselves, so you’re preparing with someone who truly understands what panels are looking for. Whatever your interview involves, we’ll help you walk in confident, prepared and ready to give your best.

Don’t just take our word for it – check out our Google reviews and see why pilots rate us 5.0 from 128 reviews.

Not at all. This course is about the non-technical side of selection – how to evidence the competencies panels are looking for in your interview and group exercise – so it’s just as valuable whether you’ve never flown before or already have hours in your logbook. Strong interview and group exercise technique can set you apart from others with a similar background.

It depends on how much time you have before your assessment and how you like to learn. If your interview is coming up soon, the shorter access period lets you work through the essentials at pace. If you’d prefer to take your time, revisit modules and practise thoroughly, a longer period gives you that breathing room. Whichever you choose, you get the full course – and you can re-watch every lesson as many times as you like until your access expires.

A group exercise places you with other candidates and gives you a task or scenario to work through together, often against the clock. Selection panels aren’t looking for whoever talks the loudest – they’re assessing how you communicate, collaborate, influence and contribute to a good outcome under pressure. Many applicants find it the most unfamiliar part of the day, simply because there’s no obvious way to “revise” for it. Our course breaks the group exercise down into clear, repeatable techniques so you know exactly how to stand out for the right reasons.

Absolutely. Our training is built around our ‘Techniques Not Tip Offs’ approach – rather than second-guessing one specific provider’s process, we teach you the transferable techniques that work across any flight school or cadetship assessment, so you’re prepared whichever school you’re applying to.

Our Academy Interview & Group Exercise course is a great place to start. It’s designed to take you through exactly what selection panels are assessing at these stages and how to evidence the competencies they’re looking for – all online, so you can learn at your own pace and revisit each lesson as often as you need throughout your access period. And if you’d prefer more personal support, our one-to-one coaching is available online or in person to focus on exactly where you need it most. Whichever route you choose, you’ll walk into your assessment confident, prepared and ready to give your best.
